4 days until ARTPOP

With only 4 days to go until the release of ARTPOP, let's take a look at the four singles Gaga has released so far...

First up was Applause, which was released way back in August, almost a week early as she called for a pop emergency, due to the single being leaked! (The same day as Katy Perry's Roar was released... Hmm very clever Gaga!)  Applause was automatically loved by fans with its catchy beats, but was frowned upon by critics who saw the song as her saying she lived for fame! However she then explained it as her living to make her fans happy (Awwwww Gaga). As well as releasing a lyric video the Gaga released a full length music video, which stayed true to the Gaga we all know and love, with multiple outfits, scenarios and references to previous Gaga eras!  Click here to see my rundown of the video

The second single, wasn't really supposed to be a single, she just released it because YOLO! Featuring the legend that is R.Kelly, she definitely made a good choice to release it, as everyone was intrigued to see what the duo had created! You can really feel the emotion in  Gaga's voice when she sings this one, and  I can see this song becoming an iconic performance with it's dancey beginning followed by keyboards and ending on a lyrical high. I am looking forward to seeing her perform this on her next tour, as it seems like it's going to be one of those song she recreates over and over, but still gives off the same amazing vibe!   Click here to hear the song!
Her 3rd single Venus, which was the first song she has ever produced on her own (you go Glen Coco)  The song is full of classoc Gaga synths, and beats that are just begging for a cheesy 90s dance routine! She performed a killer performance of it on the xfactor UK, mixed with her other new single Do What You Want, including the anticipated dance routine (yay).  The lyrics to Venus had me stunned from the first listen, as it takes a true musical genius to fit "Uranus... DON'T YOU KNOW MY ASS IS FAMOUS" into a song, and Gaga has done it so well! On the other hand this is Gaga we're talking about, the same woman who only a few years ago was "bluffin' with my muffin" and claiming that "I want your whiskey mouth all over my blonde south" so who knows what other genius lyrics she is going to create in the future. Click here to hear the song!!

Finally we have DOPE, a piano ballad that is very much like You and I and Hair from the Born This Way era! She performed it live at the first ever YouTube Music Awards where she broke into tears as she sang! (Poor gaga) The song is full of emotion of which you can hear behind her delicately powerful voice as she sings 'I need you more than DOPE'. This isn't a song about drugs, subject to contradictory beliefs,  it's a love song. Presumably aimed her boyfriend Taylor Kinney (Although apparently they've now split up?) You Can hear the song here!
After listening to these songs pretty much nonstop for the past week, it's easy to see that Gaga has grown as an artist but has kept her style, which isn't always easy for artists! I've said it before, but with the release of ARTPOP the queen of pop is definitely back, and I am so proud of her!  Welldone Gaga, your monsters love you!
You can buy ARTPOP in full on November 3rd, or you can preorder it now!
