The Journey Begins..

One of the reasons why I chose to go to Kingston University was their epic study abroad program. I knew for a long time that I wanted to study abroad, and I originally planned on doing my whole degree in the states, but then I fell of my chair when I realised how much it was going to cost (it makes the UK fee's look like nothing). I found a whole bunch of universities that had study abroad programs, but none of them stood out to me as much as Kingstons did! KU, have ties with universities all over the world, which literally means their study abroad program is a passport to the world, and the program is open to pretty much anyone on any course!

There is so many countries you can choose from such as Australia, New Zealand, France, Canada, Turkey, China, even Jamaica, but the only one I was interested in was America! I love America and I have always said if I get the chance to go there for an extended period of time, I am going to do it without a second thought!

So here I am, I have been given this amazing life changing opportunity, but it's not as simple as choosing where you want to go and then going! You have to apply, listing the top 3 universities that you want to go to and then wait months before hearing a reply which could possibly be a rejection, or an acceptance to a university you didn't apply for, which then means you have the decision of going to the one you have been given, or not going at all. However I am determined to write a kick ass personal statement, and get into one of my top 3, the only thing is I have to decide what my top 3 are!
I know that I really want to go to California or New York, but both coasts are really different so I decided to check out the study abroad fair, and this is what happened...

*walks into the study abroad fair*
Girl: OMG hey there! You look like the exact person that would fit in, in New York
Me: uhm, thanks. New York seems really cool
Girl: It would be even cooler if you were there.
*Looks at the American section*
Guy: Michigan is amazing and full of snow
Girl: But New York wants you
Other Girl: So California is really cool, we have beaches.
Girl 3: North Carolina is amazing, I went there and people are so lovely!

I spoke to the people for a little bit, getting as much information as I could, and now I have no idea as to where I want to go! All the campuses look amazing, and offer so much variety, so I need to pick wisely!

If you could spend a year of your life studying in one of these states, what would you choose any why?

North Carolina
New York

And if you went on a study abroad year, please shoot me some advice!

Keep checking back, as I'll probably be posting updates on this magical adventure I am about to embark on!

Peace out xoxo
