Photo diary: Monday Funday.

I recently decided that over the course of the summer, I want to avoid my usual ritual of staying inside and lurking within the darkness of my bedroom, and actually venture out into the sunshine.

That being said, I hate crowds of people, and there tends to be a lot of those around at warmer times of the year, so I'm slightly limited to the places I can go. But yesterday, I took fear by the balls, and stepped out into my busy crowd filled back garden (*sarcasm*) to read my book.  The sun was shining, there was a slight breeze amongst the trees, and my cat was giving me dirty looks for invading his territory. It was brilliant.

I started to read Rachel Cusk's, Outline which was shortlisted for this years Baileys Prize, and so far I can't fault it.  I won't say too much about it, as I am hoping to review it in the next few weeks, but based upon what I have read so far, I would definitely recommend that you read it.

In between chapters, I allowed myself to get distracted by my colouring book. I've always loved colouring, it's very de-stressing, and calms my anxiety levels. Allowing your mind to focus on one thing can be really soothing, by pushing everything else out and letting your brain breathe you can really gain an element of clarity in other aspects of your life.

And of course you have to have to have a little bit of music playing whilst you're lounging around in the garden. I was going to make a summer playlist, but I hate all 'summer jamz' that have been released this year. No one cares if you've found yourself a cheerleader, asshat! And no, I do not want your magic wand, Mr Wizard of Love, if that's even your real name. What ever happened to the good ol' summer feel good anthems? We need Gwen Stefani, Destiny's Child, and Rammstein to liven us up during the semi sought of warmness we have!

What have you guys been up to?

Kirstie :)

George isn't too impressed at my attempts to share, Gunter with him.
